Burn

Started with a glance,
Warmed into a blaze,
Brilliance of the nova,
Intensity of your gaze.
Back from death’s ice,
Clawing back into life,
Unity through the pain,
Careening forward to strife.
Though apart by hours,
the fire  still tended.
Until the last of our nights
when my soul  finally rended.
She speaks of her pain,
abandoned by the new,
Forgotten the warmth of home,
The bond from which she flew.
Fire is still alight,
The passion  still stirred,
But now it would consume,
The vessel now angered.
Child of the sun, orphaned
Feelings left to churn,
Now all he has left
The hatred that wll burn…
